Sale is a town of distinct pockets rather than one uniform housing type, and the work we do reflects that. Sale Moor, in the south of the town, is largely red-brick Victorian and Edwardian terraces and bay-fronted villas built for Manchester's expanding middle classes over a century ago — properties with original chimney breasts, cellars in some cases, and gas and water pipework that has usually been added to piecemeal rather than replaced wholesale. The town centre itself, around Sale Water Park, School Road and the Trafford Centre-adjacent retail parks, has seen a wave of newer apartment and townhouse development over the last fifteen years, particularly near the Metrolink line. These properties bring their own set of jobs: combi boilers in compact utility cupboards, occasional shared-block heating queries, and a steady stream of landlord certificate work as more of this newer stock gets let out to tenants working in Manchester city centre and using the tram to get in.

Priory and the streets around Sale Grammar School and Springfield Road have a mix of interwar semis and some larger detached houses, often owned long-term by the same family for decades, which means original 1960s and 1970s central heating pipework still turning up occasionally under floors — undersized 15mm runs feeding radiators that have since been upgraded, causing flow problems that look like a boiler fault until someone actually checks the pipe sizing.
